Our 2015 Nissan Murano would not start last Monday (Thanksgiving week), even though it's Die Hard battery was only its 6th month of a 4-year warranty. While the dashboard, navigation system, and interior lights all worked fine, the engine simply would not crank and start. We contacted the Belden's Automotive on Bulverde & Evans Road and explained the problem and its symptoms, and they were very up front in letting us know they probably wouldn't be able to get to our vehicle until the following week, due to their current workload and the Thanksgiving holiday. They offered that if our previously used Belden's Automotive on San Pedro also had a backlog, to let them know and to have our vehicle towed to their location (the closer one to our home). Contacting Belden's Automotive on San Pedro likewise led to straight-shooting, honest appraisal by the representative there, who indicated that they should be able to look at our vehicle sometime later that week. We contacted AAA to have our vehicle towed to the San Pedro Belden's (we are AAA members), and the AAA tow truck operator concluded after testing our Murano's battery that the battery was defective, and the fix should be to simply have the battery replaced at the nearby auto parts store where we had purchased it 6-months ago. Foregoing the tow and following his advice, we returned to the auto parts store, who diagnosed a probable alternator problem, but also replaced the Die Hard with a new one, allowing us to once start the car (temporarily) and drive it to the San Pedro Belden's on Tuesday. On Saturday the Belden's representative informed us that all of their diagnostics did not identify any problems or issues with our Murano's charging system, and that the vehicle could be retrieved. No cost to us for the time they spent diagnosing and testing our vehicle's systems. True professionals who know their job, one of the main reasons we have taken our vehicles to Belden's through the years.
