Not satisfied with Belden of Boerne. Recently brought our vehicle to Belden for a malfunctioning A/C; a manifold hose from the compressor to condenser leaked causing low refrigerant pressures and no cooling. While discussing the concern with the manager, I asked if I could supply the parts as I preferred factory spec Ford/Motorcraft. I was told they could not allow a customer to supply their own parts due to warranties etc but could source Ford parts for the repair. The AC repair included a new manifold hose, new condenser (at our request), orifice tube, and a system evac/recharge. The repair was completed within a reasonable amount of time given the new condenser leaked and had to be replaced. When I picked up the vehicle I asked if Belden had used Ford parts for our repair and the assistant manager affirmed they had. Once home and reviewing the invoice I discovered Belden used aftermarket parts from UAC and TYC, which are not Ford/Motorcraft. Everyone has their opinion on the reliability of aftermarket parts (see above about leaky new condenser); I have found them less durable and thus more costly in the long run - which is why we asked for and were told Ford parts were used. To add insult to misrepresentation, Belden charged between 4 and 6 times as much for the aftermarket parts as one could purchase them retail; for example: the TYC condenser part #4883 is ~ $53.79 from an online vendor, the Belden invoice for the same part/number was $219.88. The UAC manifold hose assembly part HA112011C is ~$34.79, Belden charged $230.83. Belden does offer a 24mth/24K warranty with Roadside Assistance but a 400-600% markup AND misrepresenting the parts as Ford is just wrong - I cannot recommend this shop.
